How To Find Life in Jesus

A lot of people are living life for themselves and are ignoring God completely.  That is not what God intended nor what God expects.

The Bible says that God is holy and sinless and man is unholy and sinful and because of that each person is missing the mark.  Each of us needs to admit that living life our way is the wrong way.

In Romans 3:10 its says, "as it is written, there is none righteous, not even one' " and in Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

The Bible says we have all sinned. That means we have broken God's laws and because we have broken God's laws, God will judge us.

John 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

When we are judged by God, we are found guilty. For God to be just, He must punish us, just as a judge would do in a court of law today. God said our punishment of sin is death.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The death referred to here, means “separation from God for eternity in a place called hell.”

But God doesn’t want you or anyone to go to hell. The Bible says, “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

The question is: How do we escape hell?

It is possible to escape hell by putting your faith in Jesus.

Listen to what Jesus and the Bible says we must do.

Jesus said in Luke 13:3, “ ‘I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.’

To repent means to turn from your sins & turn to God.  God wants you to feel sorrow for your sin.

Notice what 2 Corinthians 7:10, “For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.”

In Romans 10:9, 10 it says we must believe in Jesus and confess Him as our Lord & Savior and we will be saved. Listen to what it says, “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

We must believe that Jesus died for our sins, was buried & rose again on the third day. We must agree that Jesus is the only way to be saved. We must understand that He is not just a good way to get to heaven but the only way.

Jesus asks us to give our lives to Him so that He can give Himself to us.

Matthew 16:24 says, “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.’ ”

Jesus wants to forgive us of our sins if we are willing to confess them to Him.  1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Because we have sinned against God we need to be saved.  We can be saved because Jesus died on the cross for us and by His blood, He paid the penalty of sin for us.

If you want to be saved, I want to ask you to pray the following prayer. (Keep in mind it is not the prayer that saves you, but it is Jesus who you are putting your trust in who saves you.)

Pray: “Dear Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and I am guilty of violating your law. I believe You died, was buried & rose again on the third day. I realize I will go to hell, if I do not confess my sins and call on You to save me. Right now, by faith I invite You into my life and I ask You to forgive me of my sins.  I know that being good is not enough, so I want You to save me and be my Lord and I chose to live for you from this day forward.  Amen.”
